Wow, it sure has been a while since my last post. I hope you all didn't worry about me.

It's finally picking up here at work. So, that doesn't leave much time for posting. But anyway, I'm leaving today for 5 days of canoeing, hiking, and camping. I'm very excited. If you were to ask my brother kingy(who is also going), I'm sure he'd say he's excited too.

If this trip is half as cool a last year, then I'm in for a very good time. We'll be canoeing in the BWCA. If you haven't heard from me by next Wednesday, then send a guide up looking for us.

Good morning everyone and happy Friday.

I've been working with kingy for the last two days. He's moving on to bigger and better things. So my company has been asked to step in to aide the transition during kingy's last few weeks. i will be here for at least two days each week to learn the system.

It doesn't seem to terribly difficult. It was a little overwhelming the first day, just going over all the servers, and different software they use. But after I get a chance to really learn some of this stuff, it will get much easier.

In other news, a really good friend of mine is in the hospital. From what I hear, he will be in there up to three more weeks. He's already been in for about a week now. I feel so bad for him and his family. He was supposed to start a new job this past Tuesday, but was unable to due to his stay at the hospital. It sucks because he will no longer be starting at his new job because of this, and now him and his wife are out of work. I would like you all to keep them in your prayers as the next few weeks are going to be very difficult on their whole family.

So, the Vikings didn't pay as well as I'd hoped. But the first string looked promising. They threw the ball almost every play, and Jackson looked much better than he did last year. Some of his throws were off a little bit but a huge improvement regardless.

I didn't do much this weekend. Watched a lot of the Olympics, went shopping with the family. Nothing too exciting.

I am very excited today for two reasons.

#1 It's Friday. I don't have to do anything this weekend. I'm sure I'll find something around the house to keep me busy, but I also get to sleep in.

#2 Perhaps the main reason I am so excited. It's the first MN Vikings pre-season game tonight!! I've been waiting all off season to watch em. They've picked up a few key players and the young ones have improved their skills over the summer, and it looks to be a promising season. We have pretty much the same team returning from last year, but they key players we've added should help fill the major holes from last season.

Did I mention that I'm super excited for Vikings football? Because I'm so excited this day is going to drag on and take forever. The game starts at 7:00 so no one call me, if you do I will not answer, unless you're calling to discuss an awesome play that just occurred. Other than that, I will not be talking on the phone for at least the first quarter, as that's when the starters will be done playing I'm sure.

I'm getting pretty excited for my canoe trip.

I went and got a new sleeping mat as well as a few dry sacks. I made the mistake last year of not bringing any dry sacks. I had just used a garbage bag because I found that as a tip online last year. Nothing got wet, luckily, but it would have sure been nice to know that my things wouldn't get wet in the event of a tip or just plain old rain.

I'm excited for my sleeping mat. It's pretty small and will fit nicely on my hiking pack. I also thought I lost my water purifier, but I found it in the place that I left it last year.

I've even aired out my tent. I am sooo ready. Bring it on Minnesota!

I'm so glad it's Friday. I again have no plans this weekend. It'll be nice to get a chance to do some more things around the house.

A really good friend of mine is moving closer to me in about a week. He'll only be an hour away as opposed to 2+ hours. I can't wait, if he's here next weekend I think I'll try and see him and his family.
