First of all, I'm sorry for the long post.
Well, my weekend was all I hoped it would be. The food was fantastic, the ambiance of the place was wonderful, and the room was incredible.
I hardly know where to begin.
We started the weekend off by checking into our room. The young lady, who checked us in, showed us to our room. While explaining some of the features, and some history on the original Hotel Donaldson.
Each room is decorated with a different local artist's work. Our room featured artwork from the hotel owner's children, working with some local artist that I've never heard of and whose name I knew I was going to forget.
We made reservations for the evening to dine in the HoDo's fine restaurant. Being Lent and all, I felt a little obligated to eat fish. The halibut was the special dish for the evening. So I tried it. It was by far the best halibut I've ever eaten. The whole meal ranked on my top 10 best meals of all time.
After that we had drinks in the lounge, then decided to make it an early night, and go for a dip in the hot tub on the roof. Outdoors in -3 degree temps and pretty windy. It was very fun. Our hair froze, and our beer was getting pretty close too.
The next day we spent on the room, going out for lunch, and then went out for appetizers at this other downtown hotel bar located in the skyway hovering over the city streets. Another good night.
That was the jist of it. I could keep talking, but this post is getting pretty long.
